Alia Mohammed, leader of Group 17, a group comprised of eight (8) Year 2 MBBS students of the Class of 2025, who are affiliated with the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago are in the process of commencing our proposed Public Health Research Project which is entitled: “Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices to Antibiotic Prescribing Amongst Doctors for Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections in Non-Pregnant, Pre-menopausal Women”.
This project will be under the supervision of Dr. Shalini Pooransingh and co-supervisor, Dr. Rajeev Nagassar.
This project objectives:
- To determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices among physicians for Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections.
- To ascertain if physicians act as dispensers of antibiotics.
We are hereby seeking your assistance in the dissemination of our questionnaire to physicians in the fields of Primary Care, Urology or Gynaecology and Obstetrics to conduct our research project.
We have provided you with the informed consent and questionnaire link to be utilised during the research process.
Also attached is a copy of our letter of approval received from the University of the West Indies Medical Ethics Committee.
