A Tribute to Dr. Allison Connell and Dr. Ammara Backredee-Mohammed

The Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association (T&TMA) pays tribute to Dr. Allison Connell and Dr. Ammara Backredee-Mohammed. Both doctors embodied compassion, humility and unwavering dedication to service in their respective fields of Emergency Medicine and Ophthalmology.

Dr. Allison Connell was truly a gentle giant among us – offering quiet strength, wisdom, care, comfort and kindness to all who crossed his path. 

Dr. Ammara Backredee-Mohammed was a warm, dedicated, goal-oriented physician with a devout approach to her practice, grounded in strong spiritual values.

Their gracious and significant contribution to the medical profession and to the people of Trinidad and Tobago will not be forgotten. We extend sincerest condolences to their families, friends and colleagues during this time of profound loss, as well as, to the many patients and families whose lives these young doctors touched.

Let us all, in the face of these losses within our medical community, remember to lean on each other for comfort and support.
